BROW LIFT BENEFITS

Over time, the muscles begin to lose their strength which in turn causes forehead wrinkles, also referred to as “worry lines.” A brow lift raises the eyebrows to a more elevated position to eliminate these forehead wrinkles.

A brow lift treats the following conditions:

  • Sagging forehead skin
  • Descending droopy eyebrows
  • Deep forehead wrinkles

Brow lifts are often performed with eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty), which removes excess skin and/or fat from the eyelids, to provide a smoother, more refined facial appearance from the forehead to the areas below the eyes.

WHAT TO EXPECT AFTER A BROW LIFT

Some swelling and bruising can be expected following a brow lift. There may also be some tightness and sensitivity felt near the incision sites; however, these effects should subside over the next several weeks. Most patients are able to return to work within a couple of weeks displaying a younger, more appealing forehead.

THE BROW LIFT PROCEDURE

There are different methods for performing a brow lift, depending on your unique condition and desired outcome. The most common approaches to brow lifts include endoscopic and the more traditional coronal, or open method.

Brow lift treatments are typically performed under general anesthesia and can take up to two hours to complete. The exact incision pattern depends on the extent of change desired and where on the forehead the most work is being performed. Our surgeons are typically able to place incisions in natural creases and the hairline to prevent them from being noticeable. During an endoscopic brow lift, excess forehead tissue and fat are removed using a thin tube with a camera.

It is less invasive than a traditional open brow lift which requires a larger incision usually spanning from one ear to the other.

Once the loose skin and fat are removed, the remaining tissue and muscle are re-contoured to create a smooth, relaxed forehead appearance. The eyebrows are repositioned to a more aesthetically pleasing position, and the incisions are sutured shut.

Our surgeons will discuss your brow lift options with you in detail during your consultation.  Most patients can achieve their desired outcome with the less-invasive endoscopic method.

THE ENDOSCOPIC BROW LIFT

Here at Neaman Plastic Surgery, we’re proud to be among the few plastic surgery practitioners offering patients the endoscopic brow lift technique. This minimally invasive alternative to the traditional brow lift utilizes small scars that are easily hidden behind the hairline. Improved healing and minimized bruising make this advanced technique a favorite among our patients.
