Nobody likes stretch marks. What purpose do they serve, anyway? To remind us that we once had gorgeous, smooth skin? What a cruel trick of nature.

Most people treat stretch marks with lotions and creams, unknowing that there are other types of treatments available. But as famous people like Cindy Crawford and Halle Berry know, the most effective way to reduce or get rid of stretch marks, is through laser therapy. The reason the stars use this methods, is because it actually works to improve the appearance of your skin.

Laser beams may sound like science fiction, but truly work when blasted at your skin to help make your skin not only smoother but also to reduce stretch mark coloring. There are a few different types of lasers that are used to help minimize stretch marks — the two most common types are, pulsed dye laser and fractional laser therapy. Both types of laser therapy use wavelengths of light to stimulate new growth of collagen and elastin, meaning hello new skin, goodbye stretch marks.

The laser makes small “injuries” in the skin (don’t worry, it doesn’t hurt) where the stretch marks are leaving normal, untreated skin in between. The untreated skin creates a response in the body that helps heal the treated area quickly, replacing it with new, healthy skin. We’ve seen great results.
